A note from the team at Solanta

    What we are actually offering

Three things, and then you can decide whether it is worth a conversation.
    • You own the system, so it is an asset rather than a bill you pay forever
    • $0 down to start, for qualified homeowners
    • A fixed monthly payment with no annual increase, on the 0% escalator option

We are a local team, and the same people who quote your system are the ones who install it. You will not be handed to a call centre after you sign.

Who you will be dealing with

    Meet the Solanta team

Solanta is not a call centre and not a national franchise. It is a local team based in New York City, and it exists because too many homeowners here with flat roofs and older buildings were being turned away, or quoted a system that was never designed for their actual roof.

That is still what we do. We show up, we do the work ourselves, and we are still here after the install is finished.

Six reasons New York homeowners choose Solanta

The short version, before you spend two minutes on the form.
    1. Stop renting your electricity

Every Con Edison and PSEG bill you pay buys you nothing. Owning your system turns that money into an asset on your own roof.

    2. A payment that does not climb every year

Plenty of solar financing raises your payment annually. The 0% escalator option is a fixed monthly payment, so you know what year ten looks like on the day you sign.

    3. Built for New York roofs

Shingle mount, tile mount, ballasts, tilt racks and canopies. Flat roofs are a specialism here, not an exception we work around.

    4. Less exposure to the utility

Rates move and you have no say in it. Generating your own power reduces how much of your bill is somebody else’s decision.

    5. See what your system is doing

The Solanta app shows your production and your savings whenever you want to look. 3,485 people are already using it.

    6. Local, and family owned

The people who quote your system are the people who install it, and they are still reachable afterwards. Serving the New York Metro Area since 2018.

After doing some homework and calling a few solar companies for a rooftop solar system in the city, I was told that my property didn't qualify because there was no egress around an old HVAC condenser on steel beams that crossed my roof. Dean was the only person that got back to me with a solution: a solar system on a welded canopy with a catwalk above the steel beams allowing front to back egress for the fire department (to meet code). The Solanta team also arranged a replacement of my old AC condenser with a new heat pump as well as a new PMMA roof. I could have tried to coordinate the heat pump, roof and solar system separately on my own time and expense, but Dean designed, procured and managed all the pieces to lower costs and decrease future maintenance issues. I don't think there is anyone else who could have done this project.

    • We compared several companies before deciding to work with Solanta. They worked with us on the best design maximizing solar panles on our pitched roof.

Dean and his team were great to work with. Very responsive to all our questions during the process. We compared several companies before deciding to work with Solanta. They worked with us on the best design maximizing solar panles on our pitched roof. Came out and installed the panels in one day. Were very respectful of our house (taking shoes off inside, and cleaning up after install). Looking forward to many years of solar-powered showers.

    Before you decide anything

What happens after you hit send

In order, so there are no surprises.
    1. You tell us about your home

The form takes about two minutes. Uploading a recent electric bill is optional, and it is the difference between an estimate built on your real usage and one built on an average for your area.

    2. A person reads it, within one business day

Not a bot and not a call centre. Someone on our team looks at your roof from satellite imagery, checks what is available at your address, and comes back to you.

    3. You get your actual numbers

What the system costs, what it produces, what your monthly payment would be and which incentives apply where you live. Before you commit to anything.

    4. If you go ahead, we do the rest

Design, engineering, permitting and installation are all handled by the same in-house team. Your system starts generating on the day it is switched on.

Our commitment to New York homeowners

Switching to solar is a big decision, particularly here, where no two buildings are the same. So here is what we will not do to you.
    • No pushy sales tactics

You get the numbers and you decide. No closer, no countdown, no same-day-only discount.

    • Transparent pricing

You see exactly what goes into the monthly payment before you sign anything.

    • A real person, every time

You talk to the local team directly. The people who quote your system are the ones who install it.

    • Designed for your roof

Shingle mount, tile mount, ballasts, tilt racks or canopies. The design follows the roof, not a catalogue.

Questions people ask before they fill this in

    Does the estimate cost anything?

No. The estimate is free and there is no obligation attached to it.

What does $0 down actually mean?

It means qualified homeowners start their system without paying anything out of pocket, on a financed monthly payment instead. It is not a discount and it is not free: you are paying for the system over time rather than up front. What your payment is, and whether you qualify, is part of what we come back to you with.

Do I own the system, or is this a lease?

You own it. This is an ownership plan, not a lease and not a power purchase agreement. Once the financing is paid off the system is yours outright.

What is the 0% escalator option?

Some solar financing raises your monthly payment by a set percentage every year, which is called an escalator. The 0% escalator option holds the payment flat for the whole term, so the figure you are quoted in year one is the figure in year ten.

Do I need a certain credit score?

Financing approval is the lender’s decision, not ours, and it looks at more than a score. We will tell you which options you have rather than guess at the answer, and nothing is run without your say-so.

My roof is flat. Does that rule me out?

No, and flat roofs are one of the things this company is built around. Shingle mount, tile mount, ballasts, tilt racks and canopies are all systems we design and install. If you have been told solar will not work on your home, it is worth a second look.

    Do you serve my area?

Based in Brooklyn, Solanta designs and installs custom solar solutions for homes across the five boroughs and the greater New York Metro Area. The form on this page covers New York and New Jersey addresses.

What happens if I sell the house?

The financing either transfers to the buyer or is settled at closing, and which of those makes sense depends on your agreement and on the sale. We will walk through the options with you when it comes up. By default we warrant our workmanship for 10 years and it is fully transferable, with conditions, including a reduced 1 year warranty if recommended roof repairs are declined before install. See warranty terms.

    Are you licensed and insured?

Licensed, yes: New York (NYC DOB 620758, HIC 2081506-DCA) and New Jersey (DOB 045048192, HIC 13VH11017700). We are happy to send a current certificate of insurance before any work starts, just ask.

What happens to my phone number?

We use it to reach you about your project. That is what you are agreeing to when you tick the consent box at the bottom of the form, and you can reply STOP to any text to opt out. Read the privacy policy.

Solanta installs residential solar across the New York Metro Area, including Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester and New Jersey. Starting monthly payments are estimates for qualified homeowners and are not guaranteed. Actual payments vary with system size, financing approval, roof condition, energy usage, shading, available incentives and other installation factors. Not every homeowner or property will qualify, and financing approval is the lender’s decision.

Con Edison and PSEG rates change over time and vary by usage, rate class and market conditions, and utilities apply their own charges to solar customers. Savings and production figures depend on your individual circumstances and on how your system performs. Nothing on this page is tax advice; talk to your own adviser about which incentives apply to you.
